The AIHL Georgia Syndicate will be holding a 1-day only open team tryout on :

Date: Sunday October 23rd, 2011
Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Location: SGAA Dual Deck Arena, 2115 McGee Road, Snellville, GA
Tryout Fee: FREE

Team Paperwork: 2011 2012 Player Contract
To speed up the tryout process, I have attached a copy of all the required forms and paperwork in the link above. Please print, fill out and bring along all appropriate forms to the tryout event.

Tryouts will start promptly at 10AM. Please arrive early enough to get dressed and warm-up.

Who is eligible to try out?
The tryouts are open to both men and women who are at least 16 years of age as of December 1st, 2011.

You will be required to have read, reviewed agreed to and signed the 2011 2012 Player Contract prior to participating in the tryout. If you are under 18-years of age, your documents must be signed by a guardian or parent.

Cost to Participate
The AIHL is a semi-professional league. The operational costs are paid through team fund raisers and player fees. We are making a few changes this season which will reduce the cost for players to participate. As of right now, the estimated cost per player to participate is approximately $556 for the season. This number maybe cut in as much as half depending on the condition of uniforms this season.

The biggest cut has come in team transportation. We have elected to not use charter buses this season. The cost of chartering a bus has risen to almost $3,000 per trip. That is a cost of nearly $9,000 a season. Instead, we are going to ask the players to be self-responsible for their own transportation. I have spoken to several of the older, more mature players and coaches and we can guarantee a ride for anyone who needs to one to each event.

So to recap, the player fee does includes hotel costs for the 3 out of town festivals we will attend. It does not include meals or transportation to and from these events.

All player fees must be paid in full prior to December 1st 2011. Failure to pay in full by the deadline will result in the player being ineligible to participate in any AIHL or Team events for the remainder of the season.

2011-2012 Team Structure
President: Tommy Melton
General Manager: Bill Schriver
Elite Head Coach: Bill Schriver
Minor Head Coach: Steve Sclafani

Elite Team Roster Update:
This season we will be reducing the number of skaters we carry on the roster from 12 to 8. In addition we will carry just 1 goal tender.

Minor Team Roster Update:
This season we will be reducing the number of skaters we carry on the roster from 12 to 10. In addition we will carry just 1 goal tender.

The American Inline Hockey League represents the highest level of organized conference inline hockey play in North America. The league is made up of some 44 teams who are organized into 8 nationwide conferences. Each team is represented by an Elite and a Minor team. The winner from each division moves forward to represent their conference in the AIHL National playoffs. Only the best of the best make it here.

The Georgia Syndicate is one of the original Gulf Coast Conference teams. Our 24 game season begins December 1st 2011 and runs through April 2012. Unlike some of the northern conferences, the Gulf Coast is challenged by geography and miles. So instead of playing a 1 or 2 game per weekend schedule, the Gulf Costs plays on a festival type schedule. Teams may play as many as 6 games in one weekend. So our season is comprised of some 4 festivals: 1 at home here in Atlanta and then 3 road festival weekends. That’s it! The commitment required to make all the games is as simple as setting aside 4 weekends during the season.

Here are our Gulf Coast Rivals:

Georgia Syndicate – Atlanta, GA (2010-2011 Minor Gulf Coast Conference Champions)

Mississippi Surge – Gulfport, MS (2010-2011 Elite Gulf Coast Conference Champions)

Louisiana Sharpshooters – Lafaytte, LA

Houston Venom – Houston, TX

Texas Terror – Dallas, TX

Coming Soon – Shrevport, LA
